FAQ

Off-Campus Life hosts a wide variety of events to support you in finding housing off campus. These events begin in October and continue through April. For most students, we recommend you use the fall semester to consider things like: What are your wants versus needs? How many people do you want to live with and who? What type of property makes sense for your needs (apartment, house, etc.)? Use winter break to look at property managers' websites. Then sign a lease sometime between January and April.
We commonly see that students live in an apartment for their first year or two off campus, and then they transition to a house. For most students, this can be a manageable transition into off-campus living regarding responsibility level. You receive the most support in a residence hall, then your responsibility increases if you live in an on-campus apartment, more so in an off-campus apartment, and even more so in a house.
Visit Off-Campus Life in the Lory Student Center, room 281. We're open Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm, no appointment needed.
